Vegetation Management
Vegetation Management the removal of invasive species, reduction of fire fuels, creation of asset protection zones and firebreaks. With our eco-mulcher we can mulch and transform natural vegetation into a layer of environmentally friendly and beneficial mulch; whilst not mulching invasive or noxious species, reducing the risk of spread.
Why is Vegetation Management Important?
- Decreased fire Risk
With unmanaged, vegetation is fire’s number one friend, as it is a natural fire fuel. Simple vegetation management includes firebreaks, asset protection zones ( APZ ) and general slashing or invasive species removal.
- Increased Property Value
Believe it or not, that blackberry bush in the corner of your yard could be the reason you lose out on money when trying to sell, without removal or control of the bush, it will continue to expand and take over the yard.
- Increase in Flora and Fauna
Removal of invasive species such as Blackberry and Wattle leaves room for natural and native flora to expand; attracting the natural wildlife.
- Increased Soil Health
Although depending on the type of flora planted, soils health can be impacted negatively of the plant is left as it may strip out the ground of the nutrients the plant requires to survive. Land Clearing can involve mulching the natural bush and transforming it into an organic mulch.
Invasive Species Removal
-
Wattle Removal
Regarded as a ‘highly invasive’ weed the wattle has a few different varieties. Thriving off natural disasters such as bushfires; the species grows like wildfire blocking natural flora from growing in its place. Wattle is also known for decreasing soil health and being a major fire fuel.
-
Blackberry Removal
Also Regarded as ‘highly invasive’ it is known for its rapid growth and various reproduction methods. This bush grows 4m in height and stems up to 7 meters long invading waterlines. As most others, this bush is a mass fire fuel, therefore increasing fire hazard risks and decreasing property value.
